Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Stain Remover Gel Cleaner Giveaway

Go get the thermometer, check this mom’s temperature! Now that I have your attention I have a confession to make. I really do not like cleaning my bathroom. (Gasp) However, as a Purex Insider, I have been turned onto a product that made cleaning a lot more easy and exciting.

Of all the normal everyday household chores cleaning the bathroom has always been something a dread! This was not the case recently. After spending a week living with a child who was sick, and boy do i mean sick, I knew I needed to do some serious cleaning from top to bottom. Thankfully, I had the opportunity to try Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Stain Remover Gel. Let em tell you, I am hooked!

You can imagine how silly I looked cleaning my bathroom with my camera in hand, but this was the perfect time for me to get some shots in to:

1) See  if the product really worked (a picture is worth a thousand words, right!?!?)
2) Prepare for writing this blog

The hardest part of cleaning my bathroom was deciding what i was going to use/do to spotlight this product. This truly was the first time I had ever used it and one way or another I wanted picture proof if it worked or not. Then it hit me....THE SHOWER CURTAIN! I have been needing a new one for a long time. It is probably the most neglected item in this house. Would it have been easier to just run out and buy a new one, probably but I am a single, frugal Mom and I am not about to pay for something if I do not have to.

"Tough on stains, Gentle on surfaces"
What do you think? Please keep in mind this was after spraying it down, letting it sit for maybe a minute and then wiping it off. Not too bad if you ask me! Note for my readers: If you are going to attempt to clean your shower curtain I do suggest having someone there to help you hold the curtain tight so you can scrub it down. I only had two little girls available and I was not going to ask for their assistance for anything other than being in my photos. Overall, I think this is a win!

A little about the product, the scent is not over powering. That's right, no harsh fumes! While I did have both the bathroom fan and hallway fan on I did not feel the need to open the window for extra ventilation. Safety first when my babies are around. The gel is thicker than other spray products and it stuck to the curtain nicely; yes it did run a little but I blame gravity for that. During the entire cleaning process (I have two curtains to clean as the tub is more circular and one is just not wide enough) the gel never seemed to dry up. Oh and for added awesomeness, you can turn the nozzle to select if you want a powerful stream or a wide spray. To clean your shower curtain I recommend a wide spray.

Additional ways you can clean with Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Stain Remover Gel:

  • Get rid of unsightly build-up caused by dirt, soap scum and mildew stains in your tub. No more bathtub rings!
  • Remove soap scum, toothpaste and other stains.
  • Make grout cleaning easy and leave tiles gleaming.

Ready For Love on NBC Smiley 360 Mission

A few weeks back I was invited to take a short survey to qualify for a mission from NBC's new dramatic dating competition series Ready For Love, hosted by Giuliana and Bill Rancic with Executive Producer Eva Longoria. I personally adore Giuliana and Bill thus I was excited to see the show.

As I qualifier for this mission I receive:

  • Unprecedented access to Ready for Love
  • During the season, you and your friends and family will have the opportunity to enter the weekly #GettingReadyForLove drawing for a chance to win unique prizes from Ready For Love
  • A chance to win the grand prize, a romantic trip for two to Santa Barbara at the Four Seasons Resort
  • The opportunity to earn up to 100 Smiles for sharing about Ready For Love

Ready For Love on NBC: Hearts be still. From the network that brought you @NBCTheVoice, comes @ReadyforLove, Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC! http://bit.ly/ZgXnqH

The overall concept of the show intrigues me - three bachelors (none of which is your average Joe...imagine that) are on a quest for romance. Matchmakers Tracy McMillan, Matt Hussey and Amber Kelleher-Andrews will choose four women for the men to choose from and proceed to will help them along the way by critiquing their dates. It appears that the matchmakers are trying to stress that sometimes you must change yourself, or pretend not to be who you truly are, in order to find love. Call me crazy but I strongly disagree! As if these woman did not feel insecure enough now they have someone tearing apart every aspect of their dates and in some cases suggesting they even act differently.

I admit, I have never been a fan of The Bachelor and I was really hoping that Ready For Love would make up for what, it in my opinion, lacked. One show over and I am still no closer than simply hoping. I will follow through with my mission commitment but I am really hoping that the next episode plays out differently. I do like the fact that at the shows end, the contestants will not be getting married or have any of that pressure. Maybe that is why I am not a fan of The Bachelor?!?!

Did you watch Ready For Love last night? If so, any thoughts or opinions you would like to share?

Celebrate Spring

I don't know how the weather is where everyone else lives, but here in Missouri it has been less than desirable. Cold weather and late snow storms seem to be commonplace lately. Thankfully, on Easter Sunday, it warmed up enough for me to take my littlest out for a quick photo session with Larry, Moe and Curly (her chickens) and Carbury (the bunny). I am so glad we were able to capture her with the animals she loves and the timing could not have been better...or worse depending on how you look at it. Sadly, the day after these images were taken, Curly, seen above as the "single" chicken in the pictures on the left passed away.  My little Monkey was so devastated and worried that Moe and Larry were next that she asked us to take them to a near by chicken farm. We obliged and I am happy to report they are doing well!

This was our first Easter we spent alone, without visiting other family members and I will say it was one of the best. While I did miss seeing them it was nice to not feel completely rushed. What Easter holiday traditions does your family have?

Choose your own adventure

It is 10:30 pm and I am sitting here at my computer, in the dark fully aware of the stress and strain this is having on my eyes, reading over my past few blog posts. When I started this blog, I intended it to be about my family life and how through the chaos we manage to live "normal" and productive lives. Yet here lately it has been more of a contest and giveaway blog. Not that this is a bad thing. It just isn't what I intended on writing about.

I find it humorous that during the average work day I can not seem to "find the time" to blog but when a freebie comes in the mail...with coupons for me to giveaway, I am all over that post. Where are my priorities? Well, I have decided that at least 2 times a week, my readers will be, if they choose to read it, subjected to something relevant in my personal life. Not that I think you all have no lives and want to know all about mine but because I am trying to document my life to hopefully see that I am not the only person who feels overwhelmed and on the verge of breakdown.

I now see that we choose our own adventures. You can choose to join mine and read all about it...or not. Ultimately in life, we pick out paths. We make time to do what we want to do. If there is something we want to do, we somehow find the time; sometimes while complaining that we do not have time. (I am guilty of this!) What do you not have time to do? Let me know by commenting below.
