See that guy with me? He is seriously one of the most awesome people I know. I am by no means an easy person to get to know. I hide behind a wall of pain and everyday that passes he manages to chisel away at that wall. Today was now exception. One of my favorite non-Christian rock artists was playing at Point Fest and he bought us tickets...we should have paid more attention to the fact that Meg Myers would be performing on the side stage and not the main as we bought seats for nothing.
We arrived a little early so we watched a few other bands before she hit the stage. Honestly, I could not with 100% certainty tell you how they were; personally I was not impressed with them. Then the moment came and she appeared!!
The ONLY complaint I have is that since my camera has a detachable lens it is not allowed into the venue for photography purposes. This really bums me out as I have to rely 100% on my cell phone.
Immediately following her set Joe and I decided to leave. Since we had purchased seats and not lawn tickets we scouted the land for a couple. Finally, we found one. THIS is why I love our life so much, again the appreciation on their faces made it totally worth it! This is not the first time we have done such either. We once bought Shianne a ticket to see Shinedown with us and when we learned she could not come we gave that ticket to a Mother/Daughter duo at the gate. We may not have an abundance to give away but the moments where we can reach out and brightens someones day definitely makes life more enjoyable!
